ABU DHABI — Abu Dhabi’s property market has reached a major landmark, passing its total sales volume for all of 2025 with nearly five months still left on the calendar.
New data from the Abu Dhabi Real Estate Centre (ADREC) reveals that residential property sales across the UAE capital soared to $23.5 billion (AED 86.3 billion) by mid-August. That figure surpasses the $22.6 billion (AED 83.2 billion) generated over the entire year 2025. The increase highlights the strength of transaction activity across Abu Dhabi’s property market in 2026.
Powerful First Half Drives Record Growth
The city's rapid performance was fueled by an exceptionally strong start to the year. Local real estate registers logged roughly 31,000 transactions by mid-August, rapidly closing in on the 41,000 total deals recorded throughout last year.
Much of this momentum gathered pace during the early months:
- First Quarter Breakthrough: Sales volume surged by 86% year-over-year, generating $10.4 billion in Q1 alone.
- Second Quarter Continuity: Growth remained robust through Q2, posting a 50% year-over-year gain.
Even as broader regional economic shifts caused developers to adjust launch timelines in the spring, buyer appetite for high-end residential offerings and prime off-plan communities remained consistently high.
