A Leasing Consultant is responsible for leasing residential properties to prospective tenants, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining a high level of occupancy within the property. They act as the first point of contact for potential tenants and play a crucial role in marketing and promoting the property.
High school diploma or equivalent (some positions may require a bachelor's degree).
Previous experience in sales, customer service, or property management is often preferred.
01. Provide outstanding customer service to prospective tenants, responding to inquiries, giving property tours, and addressing their needs and concerns professionally and courteously. 02. Conduct thorough tenant screenings, which may include background checks, credit checks, and rental history verification, to ensure suitability and financial reliability of applicants. 03. Assist tenants in completing lease agreements, explaining the terms and conditions, rent payment schedules, and property rules and regulations. 04. Coordinate with maintenance staff to ensure that rental units are clean, well-maintained, and move-in ready. 05. Collect and process rental payments from tenants and handle delinquent accounts according to property policies. 06. Stay informed about local real estate market trends and competitor properties to make pricing and marketing recommendations to property management. 07. Maintain accurate and organized records, including lease agreements, tenant information, and maintenance requests. 08. Ensure compliance with fair housing laws and other relevant regulations in all interactions with tenants and applicants. 09. Generate reports on occupancy rates, leasing activities, and other relevant data for property management. 10. Takes Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) lead in ensuring “safe systems of work” and “safe conditions” are in place within area of responsibility. 11. Performs other similar or related duties as required or assigned by management.
