Al Reem Island accounted for nearly half of Abu Dhabi’s off-plan apartment transactions during Summer 2026, highlighting strong demand for the waterfront community.

Al Reem Island recorded 1,291 off-plan apartment transactions out of 2,658 across Abu Dhabi during Summer 2026, giving the area a 49% share of the emirate’s off-plan apartment deals, according to figures reported by Arabian Business.

The increase was also reflected in the total area of off-plan apartments sold on the island. Around 139,000 square metres of off-plan apartments were sold on Al Reem Island during Summer 2026, compared with approximately 34,000 square metres in Summer 2024.

Al Reem Island Continues to Attract Buyers

Al Reem Island has become one of Abu Dhabi’s established residential communities, known for its waterfront setting, proximity to Abu Dhabi city centre and access to business and lifestyle destinations.

The area offers a wide range of apartments, from more affordable options to premium residences, giving buyers different choices depending on their budget and lifestyle needs.

Its location near Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) and other major business areas also supports demand from professionals who prefer to live close to work.

Off-Plan Demand Remains Strong

The latest figures highlight continued interest in Abu Dhabi’s off-plan apartment market.

For many buyers, off-plan properties can offer access to newer developments, different unit layouts and structured payment plans. At the same time, buyers are increasingly comparing location, project quality, amenities, developer reputation and completion timelines before choosing a property.

This makes established communities with ongoing development particularly relevant in the current market.
