The UAE has entered the world's top 25 economies for innovation for the first time, ranking 25th out of 139 economies in the Global Innovation Index (GII) 2026 by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

The country moved up five places from 30th in 2025, reflecting stronger performance across areas including institutions, infrastructure, business conditions, technology and investment.
